Zoo Pics

One thing we love about living in Eagan is being so close to the zoo. The kids love it, it gets us out of the house, and it keeps them entertained! We have a pass and go all the time. We went with the Ericksons and Mindy and the kids and they had a blast as usual. Lots of running and screamint -- hearing their echoes in the tunnel is always a favorite. Our new favorite part is the bird show and today they had this beautiful blue Heron as well as a blue Hyacinth Macaw (Mcaw?). Evie loved dancing to the music at the show and just laughed and laughed. Plus as an added bonus it means Luke will take a really, really long nap today. That's why I love the zoo!

Froggy times

Yesterday was HOT!! (almost 100 degrees plus full Minnesota humidity) so of course it seemed like the perfect day to get all the yard work done that we'd been putting off for the last year. Luke did his best to "help" with the digging and afterwards Mindy, Jeremy and their kids came over to play in the little pool. Luke's finally getting a little better about wanting to play in the water and actually had a great time. We discovered a family of about 15 frogs that have been camping out in our window well -- it was pretty funny because Luke and Kevin spent most of their time screaming and running away from them. It didn't help that the Barringer daddies kept tossing them at the boys . . .

Sports Class!

Luke and his cousin Kevin are taking a sports class this summer and it is pretty funny to watch -- mostly because they spend more time rolling in the grass and kicking the dirt then they do actually kicking a ball. Luke is actually pretty coordinated and gets very focused -- I think there's a little bit of a competitor in him (nothing like his mommy or daddy!). They are learning T ball, kick-ball and soccer. Go Green Whistles!

More Fourth of July Pics, courtesy of my friend Stacey Erickson . . . Stacey, Kim Anselmo and I and Stacey's kids Calvin, Sophie and Max. Evie is certainly turning into a camera ham -- just like big brother.

Fourth of July

All right, all, don't fall over in shock but I think I am actually going to try my hand at this as well! Maybe I'll be able to keep up with this better than I will our website or my journal . . . . plus, 4th of July sounds like a pretty good place to start!

We were very excited because this was the first 4th of July we'd all been off since I started residency and Luke was actually old enough to be excited about it! He woke up at about 530 because he couldn't wait for the fireworks. We spent the morning at the Eagan Parade with our friends the Ericksons and the Anselmos. Luke was mostly excited about the candy grabbing (and the flag-waving) and Evie basically slept through most of it. We then headed over to the Ericksons for a BBQ and the kids played in the pool. We did make it to the fireworks, though Luke had gotten sick and was so tired he actually fell asleep during the finale. He got his very own tub of ice cream and did a few sparklers, though, so it was all in all a pretty good 3-year-old day!
