Cheeks

My kids have great cheeks.

Really, really great cheeks.

Perfect for snuggling and nibbling.

Lily, 4 months old.

Recovering

February has been a rough one around here.

Fevers, shaking chills. Pneumonia for Ken (including a Valentine's day trip to Urgent Care the day we got back from vacation). Antibiotics. Bronchiolitis (poor little Lily - her sats were 94% in clinic when she looked good. I'm glad I didn't know what they were in the middle of the night when I almost took her to the ER because she didn't look nearly as good). Double ear infections for my little 4 month old. Pneumonia not gone - antibiotics round 2. Ear infections not gone - antibiotics round 2. Nasty, nasty virus that basically kept me in bed for 3 days straight.

Luckily the 2 older ones were healthy. Though that's almost worse when they have a ton of energy and both parents can barely get off the couch :) THANK YOU to good friends, home teachers and a saint of a sister who brought food, watched our kids and checked in on us. We are finally almost all healthy!

Here's to a less antibiotic-filled March (and a happy happy baby).

Princess Tea Party

After Luke's birthday bonanza, we weren't sure we were up for another party. I really hate that I have 2 kids with birthdays in January, so close after Christmas.

But Evie was so excited about her birthday. And excited about a party just for her. And really, who doesn't love to plan parties for little girls?

We decided on a Princess Tea Party - which basically combined her 2 favorite things (princess and playing tea party in her little kitchen). We had pink cupcakes, decorate crowns, made fairy wands, then let the girls have a dance party in the kitchen. Little girl heaven.

Making crowns:

The gorgeous banner Stacey made. I love it.

Pink, pink, more pink.

This Girl

Turned 3 on January 25th.

She thinks she's at least 16.

We took her out to lunch at Red Robin (mac and cheese + balloons + people singing happy birthday = happy little girl), celebrated with pink cake (that was her only request, pink) and singing happy birthday multiple times. She spent most of the day singing happy birthday to herself.

Luke wrote the instructions on the presents (notice the "opin" instructions on the side).

She spent the entire day in her birthday crown and pink tutu skirt. Thanks for the princess nightgown, Jeremy and Mindy - I think she's worn in every night since.

A few things about Evie:
-she is the most loving child ever. She tells me every day "Mommy, I wuv you. Soooo much." She loves everyone (including those she doesn't know - it's not uncommon to find her sitting next to random people). She loves her sister and loves to "tickwe her cheeks." She loves "wukey" and follows him around everywhere she goes. She never sits next to you - she its on you. Or holds your arm. Or sits on your head. She wants to be cuddled and loved.
- she is a Daddy's girl. She loves him more than anything else in this world. She is happiest sitting on his lap or cuddled next to him in bed.
- she is constantly singing. She knows the words to every princess song. Ever.
- she dances. All the time. In circles, whatever. She doesn't just walk places - she dances.
- she is stubborn. stubborn, stubborn, stubborn.
- she is obsessed with all things princess. She thinks she is a princess.

We love you, Ev!
