Happy Thanksgiving.
The pies are made.

Football has been played.

The Lions are losing on TV.

We're on our way to feast with good friends.

Enjoy the day.

"For each new morning with its light,For rest and shelter of the night,For health and food, for love and friends,For everything Thy goodness sends."

Currently making me giggle

Luke's "skating" class.

Unfortunately, the pictures just don't do it justice.

The other parents must think I'm crazy as I sit there the whole time, laughing my head off.

There's a whole lot of tiptoeing across the ice, falling, waving, elbowing other kids, falling some more, pushing the other kids down. Then falling again.

But he's grinning from ear to ear the whole time. And he tries so, so hard. I think we'll turn him into a hockey player yet.

Thanksgiving Quote #2

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow".

Melodie Beattie

Today I am grateful that my Board Exams are done. I am grateful my presentation is done. I am grateful I get to see a midnight movie tonight (yes, I am going).

What are you grateful for?

Celebrate Thanks

Some easy {and less easy but exceptionally cute} ways to get everyone feeling more thankful. I've been trying to find ways to teach the children about gratitude and celebrate the holiday.

Thankful lists: We have these posted on our door and add something too them every day. I've been adding some quotes as well.
Thankful Turkeys:
(supplies=tape and construction paper. voila!)
Some more great ideas from my friend Stacey:
Gorgeous, as usual.

There are some links to the instructions on the website.

Our first quote:
”Send that note to the friend you’ve been neglecting; give your child a hug; give your parents a hug; say “I love you” more; always express your thanks. Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved. . . Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family. . . . May we be found among those who give our thanks to our Heavenly Father. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues.”

Good Tunes

Whether you consider yourself a Twilight Fanatic or not

Whether you will or won't be going to the midnight showing on Thursday night

Whether you just need a little music downtime between your board exams today and a presentation at a state-wide conference tomorrow {fun week, eh?}

You need to get this. It's just some darn good music.
