Berry pickin'

We went with some friends to one of the nearby apple orchards to do some raspberry picking this week. I love the orchards around here and I love that it feels like fall is (maybe, finally) on its way. It is my favorite time of year in Minnesota.

The kids loved the huge pumpkin patch. They had some gorgeous pumpkins.
Evie picked a a lot of berries. She then proceeded to eat a lot of berries.

She would end up with about 6 berries in her basket, put them in her mouth, then repeat again and again. By the end, she figured out it was just easier to steal them from other people's buckets.
They found (and nearly squashed to death) a little toad.

Then we went home and made jam. I was pretty darn proud of myself as I've never made jam before.

We've already gone through one jar in the last 2 days. We'll have to do it again.

  4. When you go again, invite me! I probably won't make jam though...that is just being too productive. Good job! (Can't wait to see your little baby girl! Bet you can't, either!)

  5. Goodness, picking the berries and jam in the same day? You must be ready to have a baby! (Right before Mac came, I cleaned things that hadn't been cleaned in years.) I think jam is more exciting.
